What began in 2004 as a hobby for my mom and I, has flourished into what is now Pine by Design.
After moving to the Pine/Strawberry area, we often frequented the shops and decided it would be fun to rent a booth (which soon became 3 booths) from a local gift/antique mall. We spent many, many hours looking for items we thought would be good sellers. We liked the results we were having and in the fall of 2007, a piece of property came up for sale that we thought would be perfect for our little store. We purchased the property and refurbished it, opening our physical location in January, 2008 at the corner of Highway 87 and Old County Road in Pine.
We are year-round residents, actively involved in community – mom is a treasurer in the PSBC and on several committees. We sponsor events throughout the year… 2008 included a pumpkin patch with activities for children and so far in 2009 we have sponsored a community Easter egg hunt with activities for children. We rent flea market spaces out over the summer for $10.00 per day, have a fruit and vegetable stand called the “Produce Shack” and a hot dog/popcorn wagon on the premises.
We quickly realized that people liked to purchase items made in the U.S.A. Although difficult at times, when we come up with a new idea for an item we would like to sell, our first focus is to try and find that item made here in the U.S.A.
We offer a nice variety of items including jewelry, greeting cards, souvenirs, infant & women’s clothing, candles, kitchen wares, home décor, artwork and much, much more! We are also currently featuring some local artists’ work.
We invite you to come visit us when you are in the Pine/Strawberry area.
